Rainforest Tours

Discover rainforest animals

Since 1998 we have been offering our guided rainforest excursions into the Gandoca-Manzanillo Reserve of the South Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.

All tours are accompanied by biologist Dipl.-Biol. Rolf Blancke and his wife Juana.

We take plenty of  time to observe local wildlife. Tours usually take between 6 and 7 hours. A full breakfast at a little wooden hut deep in the forest is included.

The region has a very high biodiversity, which includes sloths, macaws, monkey, caimans, 350+ species of birds and a countless number of other species like anteaters, olingos, red eyed leaf frogs.

Rainforest plants and ecology of tropical lowland rainforests

During our rainforest excursions we also focus on the fascinating ecology of the tropical lowland rainforests.

We explain many common questions about pollination ecology, animal-plant relationships, soil ecology and many more interesting details about the rainforests at a scientific level, but easily understandable.
